Regular drain cleaning and routine maintenance of sewer pipes and plumbing systems are essential to prevent costly repairs and unexpected emergencies. Proper upkeep helps ensure the smooth, reliable operation of your home or business’s water and waste systems.

Routine maintenance includes inspecting pipes for signs of wear, corrosion, or damage; clearing clogs and blockages before they worsen; and identifying potential issues early—before they turn into major, expensive problems. Proactive drain and sewer maintenance not only extends the life of your plumbing system but also helps improve flow, reduce odors, and protect your property from backups and water damage

When a storm packs a powerful punch, it brings in more water than your plumbing can handle. If your home begins to flood, contact us. We specialize in flood control maintenance services.

WHAT IS PIPE DESCALING?

Pipe descaling is an advanced sewer and drain cleaning process that removes years of hardened rust, scale, grease, minerals and other buildup from the inside walls of cast iron and galvanized pipes.

Unlike traditional rodding which only creates an opening through a blockage, pipe descaling cleans the full inside surface of the pipe—helping restore as much of the original pipe diameter as its condition safely allows.

ROOT DESCALING

Root descaling is an additional service we offer when tree roots are found inside a sewer line, especially in older clay sewer pipes.

Traditional drain rodding is effective for restoring flow by cutting or creating an opening through the root mass. However, roots may remain attached around the inside walls and joints of the pipe and continue growing.

With root descaling, our goal is different. Using specialized equipment, we work around the entire inside circumference of the sewer pipe, removing as much of the root growth as the condition of the pipe safely allows—not simply creating a small opening through the roots.

CAMERA-GUIDED ROOT DESCALING

When conditions allow, we perform root descaling with a sewer camera in the line while we work. This gives us greater visibility and is especially helpful with older clay sewer pipes.

We can monitor:

BENEFITS OF MORE THOROUGH ROOT REMOVAL

Root descaling may help:

WILL THE ROOTS GROW BACK?

Tree roots can grow back. Root descaling removes roots growing inside the sewer line, but it does not repair the joint, crack, or opening where the roots entered.

However, instead of simply cutting a passage through the roots and leaving much of the root mass behind, root descaling removes substantially more of the existing growth. This may allow the line to remain open longer before new root growth becomes restrictive again.

SAFE, CAMERA-GUIDED APPROACH

Older sewer pipes may already have cracks, separated joints, or weakened areas. No mechanical cleaning method can guarantee that an already weakened pipe cannot be damaged.

That’s one reason our camera-guided approach is so valuable. It allows us to see the condition of the pipe while we’re working and adjust our cleaning based on what we see.

Our goal is to remove as much root growth as the pipe can safely handle, restore proper flow, and provide a more thorough alternative to simply cutting an opening through the roots.
